Getting in shape for a bikini can be a challenge, but the trick is in doing aerobic exercises. Bikini aerobics can be any kind of heart-pumping workout. Whether you’re running, swimming, biking or playing sports, aerobic workouts burn calories and help to shed pounds. To get additional definition, you’ll have to turn to workouts that target specific muscle groups like the thighs, butt, abs or arms.

Depending on your assets and what you want to hide or flaunt, the right bikini can certainly help. If you have a larger bust or want some more support as you play on the beach, a halter top is your best bet. With more material involved in the construction than a triangle top, the halter lends more lift and also more coverage. On the other hand, if you have a smaller chest and want to emphasize it, a strapless bandeau top can help. The gathering or ruching that’s usually found at the center of these tops helps to add definition and dimension to your chest, helping to give it a little more oomph. If you have great shoulders, a strapless top helps to show those off as well.

When it comes to bottoms, you’ve got options. For basic full coverage bottoms, go for a regular bikini bottom. To show a little more skin, try a string bikini bottom. These usually have less fabric on the sides due to the placement of the string ties. If you want to go a step further, there are Brazilian bottoms. These have the same amount of coverage in the front as regular bottoms, but with only moderate coverage in the back. The sides on the back are trimmed away allowing for more cheek to peek out from the sides. Of course, there are also thongs and g-string bottoms for the truly adventurous!
